What You'll Get
Unlike drill-heavy martial arts, Capoeira keeps kids playing games, learning songs, and moving to live rhythm the entire class. They build the same physical skills — plus musicality and cultural fluency most sports never touch.
Confidence
Help kids build confidence through movement and achievement.
Coordination
Improve balance, rhythm, body awareness, and control.
Discipline
Learn focus, respect, and consistency in a fun class setting.
Culture
Introduce kids to music, movement, and Afro-Brazilian tradition.
Beginners really are welcome. You will not be thrown into anything you are not ready for. Classes start with movement basics, technique, rhythm, and partner drills.

What age can my child start Capoeira?+
We welcome kids as young as 5. Class is structured so beginners can jump in any week - we blend games, movement drills, and basic Capoeira techniques so kids stay engaged the whole time.
Is Capoeira safe for children?+
Yes. Capoeira is played, not fought - most techniques stop short of contact. Kids build coordination, awareness, and self-control before they build strikes, so it's one of the safest martial arts entry points for children.
What will my kid actually learn?+
Basic kicks and escapes, the ginga (base movement), acrobatic elements like cartwheels and bridges, Portuguese Capoeira songs, and the instruments of the roda. Alongside the physical work they learn respect, patience, and how to be part of a team.
What should my child wear?+
Comfortable athletic clothes for a trial class - leggings or shorts and a t-shirt work great. If they continue, we'll get them into the traditional white Capoeira uniform (abadá).
Do you offer a trial class?+
Yes. Request class info and we'll help you find the right starting class for your child - no long-term commitment required to try it out.
